Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is the equivalent to snowboarding as water skiing is the equivalent to snow skiing. Wakeboarding is where you are standing on a wakeboard and being pulled behind a boat. Your feet are attached to the wakeboard in foot slots/boots that hold you in place. You can learn to wakeboard by watching the pro’s on a number of direct tv channels.
You start out with your feet stretched out in front of you in the water holding on to the rope. Once the boat starts it will pull you out of the water and onto your feet. Once you are moving and on top of the water you can move and do tricks if you have good enough balance.
This video shows an experienced wakeboarder who clearly knows how to do a number of impressive tricks that most of us wouldn’t even dream about attempting. I amazed by some of the things that today’s athletes can do without injuring themselves or anything else. One of the things that I marvel at the most is doing jumps and flips. I don’t see how they can propel themselves high enough and fast enough to land on their feet like they do. I would love to be able to wakeboard.
This video is awesome for all of you who are inspiring wakeboarders.
